Six Weeks of German Food, Drinks, & Music
Every Wednesday and Thursday from October 2 to November 7, 2024, Middendorf's Manchac and Slidell locations will celebrate Oktoberfest with a cavalcade of entertainment, traditional German dishes, and specialty liquors and brews: canned, bottled, or on-tap.
The six week celebration will include nightly entertainment and feature dynamic entrees and appetizers that alternate weekly (while supplies last). However, the full, regular menu will be available for patrons as well, ensuring any die hard seafood lovers will leave happy, too.
The special German cuisine on offer will include platter-style servings featuring mostly sausage and pork dishes. Menu items will include the likes of Schlachtplatte mit Sauerkraut, Bratkartoffeln und Brezel, Apple Strudel with vanilla ice cream, and much more.

A Cultural Celebration
Middendorf's Oktoberfest expertise comes from its owner, Horst Pfeifer, a European master chef and a native of Germany. Pfeifer shares this German ancestry with Middendorf's original founder, Louis Middendorf, who founded Middendorf's back in 1934 with his wife, Josie. Since the spot is so widely known for its seafood, many don't realize that the name is actually German.
Every night during Oktoberfest from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Middendorf's will also feature German accordion music from multiple talented musicians. In Manchac, David C. Symons will accompany the festivities. At the Slidell location, Will Robicheaux will play for the first week, and then Greg Speck (aka Captain Squeeze) for the next five weeks.
Visit Middendorf's for this unique opportunity that will surely have you saying "Noch ein beir, bitte" or "Another beer, please." So "halt dine lederhosen fest" (hold onto your lederhosen), and gear up for a fantastic Oktoberfest!
