NOLA Juneteenth Festival
On June 19, join the New Orleans community in celebrating Juneteenth with a festival and parade.
The NOLA Juneteenth Festival invites residents to come together in honor of the achievements and progress made by Black Americans while facing adversity and inequity.

Event Details
The festival will take place on Friday, June 19 in Congo Square from 12 to 6 p.m. For its fifth annual occurrence, the event is brought to the city by the Louisiana Afro-Indigenous Society.
The 2026 festival lineup announcement is soon to be released, with entertainment provided in previous years by BJ So Cole and Anjelika "Jelly" Joseph.
The related Juneteenth Economic Summit will take place June 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will be followed by the Juneteenth Freedom Gala from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Louisiana Afro-Indigenous Society
The Louisiana Afro-Indigenous Society is a nonprofit organization based out of New Orleans. Their mission is to unite African American and Afro-Indigenous American communities, encouraging cooperation, development, education, and equal opportunity.
Afro-Indigenous is in reference to African-identifying individuals whose ancestors were enslaved in African or North American countries. The society hopes to connect this community with other ethnic groups in Louisiana.

The Ninth Ward Festival is a fundraising event by the Louisiana Afro-Indigenous Society, serving as their last festival of the year. Residents of the Ninth Ward gather to promote their community's small businesses and entrepreneurs. The event is made possible by the partnership of the society and Burnell's Lower 9th Ward Market, a Black-owned grocery store, laundromat, and internet cafe, to host this event.
The society hopes to draw attention to the great potential of the Ninth Ward, alluding to the large-scale destruction the community faced due to Katrina.
