Fried Chicken Festival is a Winner Winner
On October 5-6, 2024, the seventh annual Fried Chicken Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the New Orleans Lakefront. Don't let its name fool you, the Fried Chicken Festival features much more than just fried chicken.
About the Festival
This is a food-focused festival, so it should come as no surprise that their largest attraction is the sheer number of food vendors. Nearly 40 restaurants will be featured, both local and national, including Ba Chi Canteen (a Where Y'at readers' favorite), The Slogar Bar & Restaurant, Willie Mae's NOLA, Grippy's Sauce Co., Lufu NOLA, and many many more.
Attendees can also look forward to live music by many talented musicians. Previous performers have included Big Freedia, The Soul Rebels, Partners N Crime, and others. Aside from food and entertainment, the Fried Chicken Fest also boasts photo ops, games, sponsored activations, and the Raising Cane's Block Party.
Foldable chairs, blankets, and sealed bottles of water are permitted into the festival but outside food and drinks, wagons, tents, and ice chests are not allowed. Fried Chicken Festival is also fully cashless this year, but vendors will accept credit, debit, or forms of cash app.
Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the gate for a higher cost. Kids 12 and under get in free. There are three ticket packages: General Admission, Beer Garden, and VIP. VIP provides access to two lounges near the stages, three alcoholic beverages, one fried chicken meal, private restrooms, game areas, and complimentary water. The ticketed Beer Garden experience includes unlimited beer in an exclusive lounge area, light snacks, private restrooms, and complimentary water.
Tickets include free parking at the UNO Lakefront Arena or satellite parking and a free shuttle to the festival from UNO's main campus.
