Though this romantic night is often smothered by Mardi Gras madness here in New Orleans, there are still those who love nothing more than forsaking the purple, green, and gold for red and pink for one night so that they can focus on romance instead of revelry. If you'd rather take your special someone on a whirlwind night on the town than stay at home, there are many New Orleans restaurants ready to bring you two closer together.

These lovely New Orleans restaurants have special menus just for Valentine's Day. Dress to impress your date and be sure to make reservations ahead of time. These restaurants are a great way to spend your Valentine's Day.

1. Coquette

Housed in an 1800s Garden District building, Coquette is a romantic setting for your big date night. You can sit on the main dining room floor or on the second floor so that you can be above the din of Magazine Street. When you arrive on Valentine's Day, you are welcome to order from the daily a la carte menu that features contemporary and innovative Creole dishes or do something more adventurous.

Thrill your date with a Four-Course Tasting Menu for $85 person. First course will be a Crabmeat and Little Gem Salad or Burrata; second course will be Carrot Bolognese or Fried Oysters; third course will be Saffron Roasted Bass, Smoked Beef Short Rib, or Pan Fried Cauliflower; and the forth course will be Strawberries and Cream or Chocolate Mousse.

2. Annunciation Restaurant

This upscale dining restaurant, located in the Warehouse District, is the perfect place any kind of special occasion, including Valentine's Day. Speaking of, Annunciation Restaurant will be serving a pre-fixe Valentine's Day menu.

It's a three-course meal for $65 per person. Said menu will include Lobster Ravioli, Paneed Oysters, Stuffed Shrimp, Roasted Duck, and Chocolate Truffle. The restaurant is also serving a limited amount of its Valentine's Lemon Ice Box Pie, so make sure to grab it before it goes away.

3. Peacock Room

The Peacock Room is a beautiful blue lounge at Kimpton Hotel Fontenot that welcomes couples to indulge in a musical Valentine's meal. From 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., take a seat for this multi-sensory experience like no other. Enjoy a four-course pre-fixe meal for $75 or consider ordering the extravagant Peacock Tower.

Da Lovebirds comprised of husband-and-wife duo Pat Casey and Robin Barnes perform sweet, soulful jazz from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Also during that time, you two are welcome to sit and have a complimentary mini-caricature drawn so that you'll have something to remember this wonderful night.

4. Bayona

Opened in 1990 by Chef Susan Spicer and Regina Keever, Bayona is the definition of romantic. The restaurant is housed in a French Quarter Creole cottage from the 1700s and has a setting that combines fine dining with casual ambience.

Bayona will be offering a four-course Valentine's Day menu that will be $100 per person. Some of the menu items will include P&J Oysters, Spinach and Frisee Salad, Braised Lamb Shank en Papillote, and Dutch Oliebollen with Blackberry Compote.

5. Domenica

Domenica means "Sunday" in Italian, but Valentine's Day Tuesday is sure to be popular with lovers. Domenica has cooked up an assortment of special Valentine's Day dishes, or you can get your favorite regular a la carte items from the full menu.

The Valentine's menu will include Tuna Crudo, Purple Sweet Potato Sformatino, Pan Roasted Duck Breast, Campanelle, and Crostata di San Valentino. Consider ordering a bottle of one of the many Italian wines that Domenica offers to make your date even more fancy.

6. N7

There's nothing quite like N7. It's a modern French bistro in the Bywater neighborhood, but it has a noticeable touch of Japanese cuisine. The building that houses the innovative restaurant was once a carriage stable turned into a tire shop. Now it's a charming eatery with indoor seating and exquisite, garden-like outdoor seating.

N7 is hosting a Valentine's Day service that will be $120 per person, with an additional $75 for a wine pairing. Some of the dishes that can be enjoyed on that special menu include Lobster Coconut Bisque, Chashu Glazed Kurobota Pork Belly, Pan-Seared Hokkaido Scallops, and Tres Leches Coconut Cake.

7. Antoine's Restaurant

Consider spending Valentine's Day at the oldest family-run restaurant in both New Orleans and the United States. Founded in 1840, Antoine's Restaurant is world famous for its amazing Louisiana-Creole cuisine, as well as for its old world charm.

Antoine's will be having a three-course Valentine's Day menu for $70 per person and will also offer a wine pairing for an additional $37. If you don't end up ordering from the Valentine's menu, then definitely consider splitting one of Antoine's famous Baked Alaska's with your date.

8. Mr. B's Bistro

Located in the heart of the French Quarter, Mr. B's Bistro offers some of the finest Creole cuisine around. The restaurant and its delicious food has received praise from the likes of Food & Wine, Gourmet, Travel and Leisure, and Bon Appetit.

Mr. B's Bistro will have a three-course menu option for two for $225. They'll also offer a wine pairing for $125. The menu features Wagyu Meatballs, Surf 'n' Turf, Striped Bass, Filet, and a couple more options. The dessert menu has a Baked Alaska, Red Velvet, and Dark Chocolate Crème Brûlée.
