At first glance, the Disney animated Wreck-It Ralph appears to be Toy Story with video arcade characters, but it's actually its own inventive movie. Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) is tired of being the feared villain of his video game and wants to be invited to parties held by his game nemesis, Felix Fix-It (Jack McBrayer). To gain respect, Ralph decides to win a medal, so he illegally infiltrated the marines-against-space bugs game, Hero's Duty. This eventually causes disarray in the game world of Sugar Rush. The actors lending their voices really give it their all with nuanced performances. Reilly and McBrayer turn in great voice work, as do Jane Lynch (as a sexy sergeantin Hero's Duty), Sarah Silverman (as a smart-ass little ragamuffin of Sugar Rush), and Alan Tudyk (as the wicked King Candy). The dialogue is smart and the puns are funny. My favorite: "He just glazed me!" The computer animation is splendid, especially the candy colored land of Sugar Rush. I felt just by looking at it that I was going to go into a diabetic coma. Wreck-It Ralph is highly entertaining all the way.
