From the end of January to the beginning of March, WYES will
be hosting an event called Season of Personal Chefs. This is a COVID-friendly
version of WYES's Season of Good Tastes. This special dining experience gives
restaurant customers a safe way to support local businesses during the pandemic.
The event consists of a prepared dinner from six different restaurants
and a chance to virtually meet the chefs. Dinners will be available for pickup
between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the designated location, and there will be a
Zoom event at 6:30 p.m., during which participants will be invited to a chat
with the chef of the night. The dinner schedule is as follows:
January 26: Chefs Susan Spice of Rosedale and Eason
Barksdale of Bayona will offer a four-course Asian-inspired menu. Dinner will
cost $99 per person, with pickup at Rosedale, 801 Rosedale Dr.
February 1: Chefs Melissa Martin and David Harrower
from Mosquito Supper Club are cooking a four-course meal for $99 per person.
Pick up is at Mosquito Supper Club, 3824 Dryades St.
March 1: Chef Cynthia VuTran of Café Minh is offering
a four-course Asian-inspired menu, a bottle of wine, and a special cocktail
with lychee puree and vodka, for $85 per person.
March 9: Chefs Amarys and Jordan Herndon of Palm &
Pine are offering a four-course menu, a bottle of wine, and a special cocktail,
for $99 per person. Dinner pickup is at Palm & Pine, located at 308 North
Rampart St.
March 15: Chef Rebecca Wilcomb of Gianna will have an
Italian-inspired four-course menu with a bottle of wine, for $99 per person.
Dinner pick up is at Gianna, 700 Magazine St.
March 23: Chef Kevin Belton is offering a four-course
menu with a bottle of wine for $89 per person. Dinner pick up is at WYES, at
916 Navarre Ave.
Participants are allowed to register for as many or as few
dinners as they would like. Reservations for each night must be made in advance.
