This week, New Orleans restaurants have begun the process of
reopening, as local regulations loosen. These restaurants are offering varying
levels of service and return to operation, per their specific region's
guidelines.
According to NOLA.com reporting, Middendorf's
is opening this week with outdoor seating and take-away service. This is in
keeping with the area's regulations. Middendorf's, known for their thin-fried
catfish, is accepting customers today.
Parkway Bakery and Tavern offers a wealth of po-boys, including a
delectable fried shrimp variety. Parkway isn't the only institution opening
back up, as Café du Monde at City Park also opened its Timken Center location,
offering access via their street-side window.
Acorn is also offering the New Orleans area pick-up services, for
those looking to get a piece of the American dining they are known for. The
service is open 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Also open for business right now is Café Reconcile, which offers
takeout only. The restaurant is running a custom menu that is a reduced version
of their normal fare. They are open from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for those
looking to plan their meals for the day. Their daily lunch plate is catfish,
which comes with two sides and is cooked to your preferred method.
New Orleans icon and bastion of good fried chicken, Willie Mae's
Scotch House, is offering pickup services for those looking to get their fried-goodness
fix. The restaurant is open Monday through Friday, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Daiwa is the perfect place for those looking to for sushi in the
midst of these troubling times. The service is offering to-go only but should
sate your desire for the Japanese delicacy. The restaurant is open from 11:30
a.m. to 8 p.m.
1000 Figs, a great restaurant that recently reopened on Thursday,
May 7, offers a menu full of distinguished cuisine. The menu will fulfill your
Mediterranean flavor desires, with offering like hummus, baba ghanouj, and many
others, all of which are available for takeout, as well as delivery via Uber
Eats.
Ancora is also available for take-away with a pared-down menu to
minimize risk for those working in the kitchen. The kitchen will be open
between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Gris Gris, on the other hand, is not currently open but has plans
to open soon. For your Gris Gris fix you will, sadly, just have to wait.
