Community Partnership Grants

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation has opened the Community Partnership Grants this year, offering up to $7,500 in grants supporting a wide range of local initiatives across five categories.

The Foundation grants funds to educators, artists, schools, and art-based nonprofits that align with the Foundation's mission to promote and preserve the music, culture, and heritage of Louisiana's communities. Providing funding to hundreds of people across the State of Louisiana, the Foundation has been re-invested more than 17 million dollars into NOLA's creative community since 1979.

Community Partnership Grant Details & Guidelines

The application has been split into five categories this year, with different guidelines for each category. The five categories include:

1. Jazz & Heritage Presenting: Festivals & Concerts in Music and Performing Arts

This category will provide financial support for nonprofit organizations to facilitate Louisiana-based performers being hired for festivals and cultural events. This grant supports job opportunities for Louisiana artists through this financial support and is limited to nonprofits located in Louisiana.

Find specific guidelines for this category here or apply here.

2. Media: Documentation & Creation

This category of grants supports organizations that create, document, or exhibit art that interprets, documents, or preserves Louisiana's indigenous cultures. These grants are open to all nonprofit organizations, but Louisiana-based organizations will be given priority.

3. Louisiana Cultural Equity Arts & Creation

This category supports any and all Louisiana-based individuals who create, document, or exhibit artwork that is representative of the many cultures of Louisiana. Individuals who are driving positive social change in the context of Louisiana from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply for this grant.

4. Education In-School

Supporting music and arts education in schools, these grants fund the day-to-day music and art instruction that take place in K-12 schools and in after school programs. Both public and private schools can apply for these grants, which may apply for a variety of uses, including instrument repair or purchase, visual art supplies, sheet music, or other necessary classroom materials for the schools curriculum.

5. Education After School

The final grant category supports summer and after-school educational arts programs that are offered by nonprofit organizations. This money is only eligible to pay professional teaching fees for artists and/or educators who instruct these programs. This grant is only applicable to nonprofit organizations based in Louisiana.

Specific guidelines for the education after school grants can be found here or apply using this link.

Eligibility

The grants listed above are not available to for-profit organizations and they are prohibited from acting as fiscal agents for grant recipients.

Individuals; higher education institutions; K-12 private, public, or parochial schools in Louisiana; and federally recognized tribal communities or tribes located in Louisiana are eligible to apply and receive these grants.

With the intention of perpetuating Louisiana's music, heritage and culture, these grants support local artists and art-based nonprofits to make quality art programs available throughout the state. For additional information and resources, visit the 2025-2026 Community Partnership Grants page.
