Collab with N.O. Community Fridges
The Muff-a-Lottas Marching Krewe have announced the kickoff of their first-ever food drive in collaboration with New Orleans Community Fridges at Central City BBQ on 1201 S. Rampart St.
The actual event will take place on March 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will featuring local dance krewes, delicious food, and vibrant music for all to enjoy while helping out their local community.
The New Orleans Community Fridges network is a grassroots effort designed to provide free food and create support networks for residents in need across the city. By placing community fridges throughout New Orleans, this initiative helps ensure that people have access to essential food items, regardless of their economic situation.
Thanks to the support of events like this one, New Orleans Community Fridges will be able to continue providing these critical services and expand their reach, further strengthening the safety net for those who need it most.
For a Good Cause
Everyone is invited to donate their own canned goods to help out, as well as to enjoy high-performance from local dance krewes, savory bites from Central City BBQ, and banger beats from DJ Mafia. All participating krewes in the event will donate their own canned goods as well to give out. The largest contribution to the New Orleans Community Fridge network will bring back the Golden Tray Award to their krewes until next year.
"We're so excited to launch this event and give back to our community in such a fun and meaningful way," said Muff-a-Lottas President Anne Montalban in a press release, "New Orleans Community Fridges provide an essential service to those in need, and we hope to make this canned food drive an annual tradition."
