Fish-fry Fridays' are back with an epic amount of options this Lent season! Whether you are abstaining from meat for Lent or simply want to discover some of the best fried fish plates in the GNO, you'll have plenty of options to choose from now until Friday, April 11, 2025.
Here is a list of churches, community groups, and local establishments you can support this season in Jefferson Parish.
Eastbank Fish Fries
1. Divine Mercy Parish

Divine Mercy Parish, located in Kenner, will be offering fish fry plates from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on March 28, as well as April 4 and 11, or until they sell out. Their plates are served as drive-thru only. Their menu will include a $15 plate filled with fried fish, French fries, mixed vegetables, and dinner roll. Exclusively for April 11, their menu will include a $15 plate filled with fried fish or fried shrimp with corn and fries. Each sale will offer $1 drinks of Coke, Sprite, and bottled water options.
2. Our Lady of Divine Providence

Our Lady of Divine Providence, located in Metairie, will be offering fish fry plates every Friday of Lent, except Good Friday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. or until sold out. Their plates will be served as drive-thru only. Their menu will include a catfish plate for only $10, a crawfish pie plate for only $10, a pint of shrimp etouffee for only $7, individual crawfish pies for only $4, and bread pudding for only $3.
3. Our Lady of Perpetual Help

Our Lady of Perpetual Help, located in Kenner, will be offering fish fry plates every Friday of Lent except Good Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Their menu will be available for pick-up in the drive-thru only. Our Lady of Perpetual Help was established in Kenner's Rivertown in 1869.
4. St. Angela Merici

St. Angela Merici in Metairie will be offering fish fry plates from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 28 and April 11 of this Lent season. Their menu will be available for pick-up in the drive-thru only for their fried fish plates. Their menu is priced at $12 a plate of two fillets for adults and at $10 a plate for one fillet per child, which comes with fries, coleslaw, and bread. Their menu also includes a $14 plate of two grilled fish with green peas, coleslaw, and bread or a plate of 12 fried shrimp with fries, coleslaw, and bread. A la carte items include a $5 soup, a $3 slice of cheese pizza, and a $3 order of fries.
5. St. Ann Church and Shrine

St. Ann Church and Shrine, a community space located in Metairie, will be offering their annual Lenten fish. The April 4 menu is yet to be announced, but will contain vegetables and salad. The March 28 and April 11 meals at this location are sponsored by St. Ann Men's Club and will start at 5:30 p.m. Their menu will be drive-thru or dine-in food these dates, and the menu will include a $12 fish or shrimp plate, or $15 combo, with salad, potatoes, and bread roll.
6. St. Benilde

St. Benilde, located in Metairie, will be offering fish fry plates to the community for drive-thru only on April 4 and April 11. Their plates will be available at 5 p.m. for pre-orders and 5:30 p.m. for walk ups. Their menu includes a $12 fish or shrimp plate or $15 combo plate. Additional items include, seafood gumbo, cheese pizza, fries, and their grandparents club dessert sales, which are dine-in only.
7. St. Catherine of Siena

St. Catherine of Siena, located in Metairie, will be offering fish fry Fridays this Lent season on March 28, and April 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. each day. Their menu includes $15 plates of either fish, shrimp, or a combo of both. For those searching for something different, they also offer a $18 plate of soft shell crab.
8. St. Christopher the Martyr

St. Christopher the Martyr, located in Metairie, will be offering fish fry's this Lent on April 4 and 11 beginning at 6 p.m. Their menu will be drive-thru only. The menu will include a $14 fish or shrimp plate, or a $15 combo plate, with potatoes, corn, bread, salad.
9. St. Edward the Confessor

10. St. Francis Xavier

St. Francis Xavier, located on Metairie Road, will be offering fish fry plates on April 4 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Lent season. Their plates will be available through dine-in or takeout options. Their menu includes a $15 adult plate, or a $10 child plate, which contains fried fish, potatoes, coleslaw, and bread. A la carte items from their menu include a $10 seafood gumbo, a $2 cheese pizza slice, and desserts by Daughters of Isabella. Payments are accepted through cash or credit card.
11. St. Louis King of France

Located in Metairie, St. Louis King of France will be offering fish fry plates during Lenten season on March 21 and 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Only available through drive-thru, their menu includes a $15 plate of catfish, shrimp, or combo with side choices of corn and fries or corn and mixed veggies. Additional menu items include a slice of pizza, side of French fries, or drinks.
12. St. Rita School

This Lenten season, St. Rita School, located in Harahan, is offering fish fry plates on March 28 at 5:30 p.m. Plates are available through drive-thru and walk-in options. Their menu includes a $12 plate of fish, shrimp or combo served with corn, potatoes, and a brownie. Additional menu items include a $5 shrimp pasta and a $5 cheese pizza plate (two slices) with a brownie.
Westbank Locations
1. Visitation of Our Lady

Visitation of Our Lady, located in Marrero, will be offering fish fry plates this season on March 28, April 4, and April 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Their plates are available through dine-in or takeout options. Their menu includes various seafood plates priced $10 to $14, including seafood po-boys, crawfish étouffée, desserts and more! Kid menu items are under $8 per plate.
2. Christ the King Catholic Church

Christ the King, located in Terrytown, will be offering fish fry plates this Lenten season on March 28, as well as April 4 and 11, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Their menu varies each week. For additional information, contact Neva Frazier at the phone number provided.
3. St. Joseph Church and Shrine on the Westbank

This Lenten season, St. Joseph Church in Gretna will be offering fish fry plates at their St. Joseph Gymnasium. All plates are available through dine-in or take out options. Their menu includes a $15 plate with a choice of fried catfish, baked macaroni, salad, bread; or shrimp and grits, salad, bread. Any desserts or drinks sold separately. This year's fish fry is sponsored by Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
4. St. Joachim

Every Lenten Friday, except Good Friday, St. Joachim, located in Marrero, will be offering fish fry plates from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Their plates are drive-thru only. Their menu includes a $10 fish plate, $12 shrimp plate, or $14 combo plate, with fries, coleslaw, and dessert.
5. St. Joseph the Worker Knights of Peter Claver 267

St. Joseph the Worker Knights of Peter Claver 267, located in Marrero will be offering their annual Lenten fish fry plates behind the church on March 28 and April 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Their menu includes a $15 plate filled with fried fish, baked spaghetti, green beans, potato salad, and bread. Specialty plates are also available, but vary week to week. Additionally, homemade baked goods sold by the Junior Division will be sold.
