HOTEL FONTENOT

In between the streets of Constance and Tchoupitoulas sits the Hotel Fontenot. While the hotel's exterior seems a bit dark, even for New Orleans taste, the inside is anything but. Hotel Fontenot opened in May of 2021. It is located not too far from the edge of the French Quarter in the Central Business District at 501 Tchoupitoulas. This hotel has 202 rooms for guests to choose from. Fontenot also has two different dining and cocktail options. The first is the Peacock Room, "a fun and fanciful cocktail bar." The other is the Gospel Coffee and Boozy Treats. Fontenot gets its name from the Creole fiddle player, Canray Fontenot. The Gospel Coffee might seem a strange name at first, but it is inspired by the gospel songs and artists that came from Louisiana, particularly those songs and artists straight out of New Orleans.

EXECUTIVE CHEF PEERY

Chef Samuel Peery has over 15 years of kitchen leadership and management experience. Originally from Tennessee, Chef Peery has traveled across the United States, Italy, and France cultivating his expertise in the culinary field. Chef's inspiration comes from the celebrated dishes of Modern America, Italian, French, Creole, and Southern cuisines. He has earned degrees from: Cook Street School of Fine Cooking, Accademia Italiana Della Cucina, and Eastern Tennessee State University. In his past, Chef has worked as a sous chef, where he supervised six different restaurant outlets, banquet operations, and was a sommelier who partnered with respected wineries, breweries, and distilleries in the industry. In Chef Peery's former position, he served as chef de cuisine at Royal Sonesta's Restaurant R'evolution.

Hotel Fontenot is so excited to announce Chef Samuel Peery as executive chef. "We're delighted to have Chef Peery join us. His extensive discipline and leadership are really going to elevate our team across multiple concepts. I'm eager to work alongside Chef as he curates new dishes and flavors while the property expands," says Jessica Retif, Restaurant and Bar Manager. He will supervise the food and beverage program. In addition, he will also create new menus for all the venues within Fontenot, such as: Peacock Room, Gospel Coffee and Boozy Treats, banquet and catering, and a brand-new-upcoming concept in 2023.

As Hotel Fontenot continues to expand its culinary showcase, the addition of Chef Samuel Peery is another piece of pie added to its staff of leadership. "I'm beyond thrilled to start the next phase of my career at Kimpton Hotel Fontenot," says Chef Peery. "I think New Orleans is really going to love where our culinary program is headed. You are definitely going to want to keep your eyes on the property and what's to come from our kitchen."

Pick up your dining ware and select your dish and beverage of choice at one of Hotel Fontenot's venues and pay Chef Peery a compliment in celebrating his newest position as Executive Chef.
