Just because holiday tea season is over doesn't mean teatime is over! Although hotels mainly host tea parties, there are tea houses, cafés, and restaurants in Louisiana that serve hot tea year-round every day! If a hot cup of tea is what you're yearning for, be sure to visit these hot spots on January 12 for National Hot Tea Day!

The English Tea Room & Eatery

Located in the storybook town of Covington, the English Tea Room invites you to their quaint little cottage for tea. They feature more than 200 teas, as well as a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dessert options such as crumpets, shepherd's pie, lemon tarts, and strawberry shortcake. Visitors can also tour the cottage and shop for vintage tea cups and tea bags. While most tea rooms are only open on select days, every day is teatime at the English Tea Room. 734 E. Rutland St., Covington, 985-898-3988, englishtearoom.com

Bottom of the Cup Tea Room

Tired of walking around the French Quarter? Soothe your aching muscles with a cup of tea at the Bottom of the Cup, a historic tea house that has served locals and visitors since 1929. It's also one of the best fortune telling spots in the Big Easy, so don't be surprised if a psychic reads the tea leaves at the bottom of your cup after you're finished! Tarot card and palm readings are also available. If you love fortune telling, make sure to buy some wands, crystals, and tarot cards before you leave! 327 Chartres St., 800-729-7148, bottomofthecup.com

Sacred Grinds Coffee House

A hidden gem found dead in the middle of Odd Fellow's Rest and St. Patrick Cemetery, Sacred Grinds lives up to the city's voodoo past. This trendy coffee shop whips up a spooky selection of coffees, sandwiches, and pastries. Sacred Grinds also has a variety of teas such as lemongrass, peppermint, and sencha green. Explore the cemetery grounds or go people watching from the off-street lounge while enjoying your beverage. 5055 Canal St., 504-488-4889, facebook.com/zombiijesu

Evolve Coffee & Matcha

Made in Japan, ceremonial-grade matcha is used in traditional tea ceremonies. If you're a tea connoisseur, you should visit Evolve to see how their matcha compares to other tea brands. While you can order it ceremonial-style or frozen, you can also order regular or iced matcha-flavored latte. If matcha tea isn't for you, chai, herbal, and English Breakfast tea is also available. Enjoy with a chicken salad croissant sandwich and a vegan chocolate zucchini pound cake. 3304 W. Esplanade Ave. N. Suite B7, Metairie, 504-582-9553, evolvecoffeenola.com
