Renovations and Goals

BRG Hospitality is pursuing new business ventures with Feliciana Bistrôt and Paradise Cocktail Lounge. These two establishments bring French influence and high-end dining to Covington, LA.

The Feliciana Bistrôt serves as a classic French bistro, using delicacies local to and loved by the region such as oysters and seasonal seafood. These local ingredients will be used to reimagine dishes such as rabbit fricassee and pâté de campagne.

The Paradise Cocktail Lounge will be located in the upstairs area of the former Star Theater. Creative cocktails and appetizers can be acquired here. Mixing the aesthetics of a French cafe and Southern study, guests are invited to take their time enjoying the unique menu and downtown-Covington view.

This dining experience is led by Chef Patrick Teagle, a former student under the guidance of faculty at the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute. His mother and father met in New Orleans, and he frequented New Orleans as a child for family trips. These experiences led to the growth of his interest in replicating the region's unique food and culture.

General Manager Olivier Court is also key to the success of this venture. He has more than 13 years of hospitality experience with a Parisian background. Court's past culinary leadership roles took place in New York and New Orleans. He was restaurant captain at Le Bernardin, which received three Michelin stars, as well as general manager of N7, and director of service for the Emeril Restaurant Group.

The Star Theater

The Star Theater stood in Covington for 81 years before experiencing demolition in the summer of 2023. The theater officially seized operation in 2005 due to the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina.

The theater opened in 1942, holding decades of history, but the location did not qualify for historic tax credits and thus could not be renovated.

Additional establishments surrounding the theater also became prospects for demolition, including buildings across the street for Southern Hotel expansion. Beside the former Star Theater is a building that also had restaurant potential, now standing as Tavi Restaurant.

BRG Hospitality in New Orleans

Additional venues sustained by the ingenuity of BRG Hospitality includes Restaurant August, Luke, Domencia, Shaya, Willa Jean, and many more New Orleans favorites.

Chef Teagle has worked in BRG Hospitality locations including Domenica and Restaurant August, where he took on roles such as prep cook, sous chef, and executive sous chef. Teagle also volunteers to mentor at the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute, his alma mater.
