A Night of Delicious Conversations Await
The Ace Hotel New Orleans will be hosting "Eater Talks" on October 23 from 6-8 p.m. with Eater New Orleans editor Clair Lorell and Chef Nina Compton, followed by a Q&A Session and a book signing.
Eater is a digital media brand, with a special emphasis on dining and food, that highlights the culinary contributions of 25 cities. Their Eater Talk Conversation at The Ace Hotel is a part of their book tour celebrating Eater: 100 Essential Restaurant Recipes from the Authority on Where to Eat and Why It Matters. The Garden District Bookstore will be onsite with cookbooks to purchase and there will be a food menu inspired by Compton's recipe in the book.
Nina Compton is the winner of the 2018 James Beard "Best Chef: South" and co-owner/chef of Compére Lapin and Bywater American Bistro. In March 2023, Compton opened Nina's Creole Cottage, and she has plans to open another restaurant called ShaSha Lounge: Social Aid and Pleasure Club in mid-2023. This eatery will serve as an NFT collaboration with numerous other renowned chefs from across the country.
Claire Lorell has served as the editor of Eater New Orleans since 2018. Previously she worked for Farm & Table New Orleans, The Atlantic magazine, The Washington Post, Digiday, and the American Society of News Editors.
