Coat Drive at JPAS' Theaters
Jefferson Performing Arts Society and Jefferson Parish Schools are teaming up for a winter coat drive to benefit children in need. Their objective is to collect 100 coats, which will be delivered to Woodmere Elementary School in Harvey on February 6, 2024. The coat drive will take place from December 9 through February 4 at JPA's Eastbank and Westbank theaters.
Donations of new or gently used coats for ages 4 to 14 will be accepted at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie on December 9, 16, and 17, 2023, as well as the Westwego Cultural Center from January 25 to February 4, 2024. Additionally, due to the varying sizes of middle school students, adult-sized jackets will be accepted and distributed accordingly.
Coats for the winter drive can be dropped off starting on December 9 at the JPAC Tree Lighting Event at 5:30 p.m. at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center. If donors cannot make it during specific times, they can schedule drop-offs by appointment. Donations will be accepted during various events, including the JPAC Tree Lighting on December 9, the Nutcracker performances on December 16 and 17, and the Mountaintop performances from January 25 to February 4 at the Westwego Cultural Center.
Coats will be collected one hour before each showtime on Thursdays through Sundays. Donors do not need to attend events to contribute, and arrangements for drop-offs can be made by emailing amy@jpas.org or by calling 504-885-2000 ext. 212.
