You know you're in trouble when the title of the movie is a contradiction in terms. If this movie is the fi nal exorcism (I doubt it, since it is left wide open for another sequel), then that means the fi rst movie lied. Or the previous picture should be retitled The Second to Last Exorcism. Then again, if there is a third fi lm, you know, to form a riveting trilogy, then the original would have to be The Third to Last Exorcism.
Anyway, about Part II-it's crap! This Louisianashot sequel to the Louisiana-shot original is no longer a found footage fi lm like the fi rst one, but a below-average horror thriller just the same.
After surviving the possession of the fi rst fi lm, Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) is sent to a girls home in an attempt to help put her life back together. The evil forces are still an annoyance, though. They come in the guise of creepy street performers and prank telephone calls. Not much else happens, that is, until the rushed exorcism/ apocalyptic finale.
What sucks is that Bell is a pretty good actress. She was kind of scary in the fi rst movie with her intense staring. Here, she plays the character as very vulnerable, and you feel for her. I just hope she doesn't get stuck doing garbage like this for the rest of her career.
