If the summertime blues (and COVID) have gotten you down and you need a pick-me-up, then you're in luck! The 2nd annual edition of the Big Easy Shakedown event will be taking place this Saturday, August 14.
Starting at 12 p.m. and located at Royal Brewery (7366 Townsend Pl., Building B), The Big Easy Shakedown will give attendees the opportunity to look at pre-1970s hot rods and will feature a long list of entertainment that will keep everyone in the summertime groove.
The event will include beats by DJ Pasta and DJ Neil Pelligrin (who hosts WWOZ's 50s R&B with Neil Pellegrin every Tuesday from 7-10 p.m.) at the start of the day. Later on, there will be music by Cricket and the 2:19, Ron Hotstream and the Mid City Drifters, and Turbine 6, as well as burlesque performances by Vivacious Miss Audacious, Luna Orleans, and Simone Del Mar. Not only will there be beer, the Big Easy Shakedown will also feature a local art market and "kustom kulture" vendors.
There will be a $10 entry fee and anyone who owns a pre-1970s hot rod, sled, chopper, or etc. is encouraged to bring it and show it off!
The summer is not over yet, so enjoy it while it lasts at
the Big Easy Shakedown!
