New Orleans Annual Red Dress Run
It's time to scour the closet for your favorite red dress. Join the hordes of runners dressed in maroon and carmine for the annual Red Dress Run, which begins at 10 a.m. on August 9.
What is the Red Dress Run?

Since 1987, the Red Dress Run has embodied The New Orleans Hash House Harriers' slogan: "a drinking club with a running problem." The annual race invites participants to run and drink through the French Quarter. As runners race through the French Quarter, they can visit stops along the trail to meet friends or grab a refill. Simply put, the New Orleans Red Dress Run combines a bar crawl with a 5K.
Schedule of Events
But if even alcohol cannot convince you to run, you don't need to worry. You can still head down to Armstrong Park, where the drinks will not stop flowing.

At 9 a.m., the gates will open at Armstrong Park, where the New Orleans Hash House Harriers will have kegs available. Racers can pregame as they make their way to the N. Peter Street starting line for 10 a.m. Beer selections from Miller/Coors Brewing Company, Abita Brewing Company, and Crescent Crown Distributing will be available.
Non-runners can remain in Armstrong Park, where locals will begin serving all-you-can-eat-food at 11:30 a.m. At the same time, New Orleans-based bands Cowboy Mouth and Crescent Kings will take the stage to perform for the crowds.
Support a Good Cause
The New Orleans Red Dress Run is not just a great time—it is also a charity event. The race supports nonprofits throughout the Big Easy, partnering with organizations such as the Waldorf School of New Orleans.
Even if you can't attend the event, you can donate through the New Orleans Hash House Harriers' website.
