Red Dress Run 2026
The "charity event with a running problems," AKA the Red Dress Run, will be returning to New Orleans on Saturday, August 8.
More than 3,000 runners will descend on the city when they paint the town red for the Red Dress Run.
About the Red Dress Run
Started by the San Diego Hash Harriers in 1987, the Red Dress Run expanded to the New Orleans chapter that same year.
The run, which features thousands of runners adorning red dresses and tearing through the city with drinks in hand, has become one of New Orleans' biggest annual events.
Fun is not the only purpose, as the Hash House Harriers have generated over $2 million for local organizations including Youth Run NOLA, the Boys and Girls Club, Dawn Busters, and more.
Hash House Harriers
Hash House Harriers is a social club for runners that drink, hosting both a run and a bar social once a week for members.
Participation in each run or "trail" costs $8 and includes three alcoholic drinks, one before, during, and after the run, and a post-run snack.
Local bars including Abita New Orleans, Mid-City Yacht Club, and Snake and Jake's have hosted the weekly social.
Red Dress Run 2026
Red Dress Run 2026 will feature a location change to Crescent Park along the Mississippi River across from Goldring Woldenberg Riverfront Park.
The fun starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, when the kegs are tapped; line-up for the run starts at 9:30 a.m., with beer flowing until the race starts at 10:15 a.m.
After the run, participants will be treated to a lunch from local restaurants. The fun does not stop there, with Petty Betty and The Crescent Kings performing until close at 4 p.m.
