Whether it's relentless advertising, colorful memes or FOMO, we have an indomitable need to have our tacos on Tuesdays … and eat them, too! Now lovers of this handheld feast of flavor have another source for their weekly yen with the reopening of Barracuda on Tchoupitoulas Street. After closing temporarily back in mid March, the popular taco stand dipped their chips into the queso briefly for pre-ordered takeout on Cinco de Mayo and this past Saturday with great success, selling out for both days. Well, they're doing it again this Wednesday, May 13th (taco Tuesday postponed?), so pre-order one of their family meals today online at eatbarracuda.com.
Have a "taco party" which includes
two proteins of your choice (chicken, pork, shrimp or mushrooms) and
a dozen handmade tortillas or, if you're not feeling tacos, you can
opt for green chile chicken or cheese enchiladas. Barracuda's meals
also include green rice, beans, onion, cilantro, cheese, salsa verde,
salsa roja and a large bag of tortilla chips. The Tchoupitoulas
Street stand also offering "pantry" items like a large bag of
chips or a jar of salsa macha, in addition to a 32oz jug of "Just
Margs" or classic margaritas.
This Wednesdays offerings are a
precursor to Barracuda's Friday launch of regular, online a la carte
ordering for pick up and delivery. There will also be a "Barracuda
Bodega" which will offer items like fresh tortillas, chips and
salsas, herbs and citrus for curbside pickup or delivery. Plus, with
the Barracuda team back together, the taco stand is working with
World Central Kitchen, the non-profit organization founded after
Haiti's devastating earthquake by celebrity chef Jose Andres
dedicated to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters.
