Empowering Musicians with $15,000 Grants for National Tours

South Arts is striking a harmonious chord with its Jazz Road Tours program, offering substantial support for jazz musicians looking to expand their reach.

This innovative grant initiative provides up to $15,000 for artists to develop three- to six-site tours across the country, with a special focus on bringing jazz to rural and underserved communities.

Made possible through funding from the Doris Duke Foundation and the Mellon Foundation, this program aims to support approximately 50 tours annually. The grants, ranging from $5,000 to $15,000, cover various expenses, including a newly added childcare provision as part of the $2,500 allocation for non-musician personnel costs.

According to South Arts' website, this program is designed to help jazz artists reach new audiences while sustaining their careers. The initiative offers flexible scheduling with multiple application cycles through 2026, making it accessible to musicians at various career stages.
