The New Orleans Opera Association aims to continue its 2025-26 season with this brand new event by celebrating the city's rich history with opera and reimagining the genre with dazzling, engaging performances.
A Season of Elegance and Flair
The 2026 festival looks to instill an atmosphere of intensity and boldness, hoping to inspire attendees. Offering sounds that tug at the heartstrings, the music is sure to wow the audience with feelings of romance and French drama, perfectly fitting for New Orleans. Featuring a sailing showboat fantasia and a pilgrim's passage through music, the festival plans to leave attendees with a completely new view of opera.
This season will features five performances:
Dialogues des Carmélites - A true story of 16 sisters of the Carmelite Order on stage at the historic Ursuline Convent.
Der Rosenkavalier - An impossible love triangle centered around a single silver rose at the Mahalia Jackson Theater.
Show Boat in Concert - Sailing concert fantasia accompanied by the sweet sounds of Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammertein II.
Golda Schultz: Dark Matter(s) - The South African soprano will be guiding the crowd with her voice at the Civiv.
Pilgrimage - A journey of passion, faith, and spirit at the hands of Floyd and Saariaho in a secret French Quarter venue.
