Local Orchestra Collaborations
The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra will be hosting several local talents this spring.
Big Freedia, Alfred Banks, and percussionist ÌFÉ will
each be collaborating with the LPO this upcoming spring for some guaranteed unique
and impactful performances. The LPO is known for hosting many incredible performances year round. All three performances will be conducted by Matthew Kraemer.
ÌFÉ will perform with the LPO on Thursday, March 28 at the Ashe
Cultural Arts Center at 6 p.m. This performance will be part of the orchestra's
Music at the Museum series. ÌFÉ is known for percussion and electronic
music that will make for a unique and compelling performance with the LPO.
Big Freedia will be performing Thursday, May 2 at the
Orpheum Theater. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Known as the Queen of Bounce, Freedia will be collaborating with the LPO again for this performance, playing old classics as well as
new hits. Freedia is a local legend, and this performance is sure to be a
not to miss experience.
Lastly, the Alfred Banks performance will be Wednesday, May
8 at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art at 6 p.m. Banks is a Grammy-nominated NOLA rapper who will be performing with the LPO for the first time. He will be performing a
selection of songs arranged specifically for the night.
