Experience live music, local art,
and favorite seafood dishes at the Cajun-Zydeco Fest! Originally scheduled for
March 28 and 29 of last year and then postponed, the New Orleans
Jazz and Heritage Foundation is thrilled to announce that the festival will
return this year every Friday and Saturday from July 9-31!
As the only festival that
exclusively celebrates Cajun and Zydeco music,
there is no better place to witness the importance of music to the Crescent City
and experience the magic of New Orleans! This year's lineup, with all
performances starting 7 p.m., will feature a number of favorites like Chubby
Carrier, BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet, and Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco
Hellraisers. Arrive to the festival ready to eat, as there will be numerous
local food and beverage vendors present. Located at the George and Joyce Wein
Jazz & Heritage Center on 1225 N. Rampart St., the fest will be a free
indoor concert set up for dancing, so wear your go-to, reliable dancing shoes.
While admission to this magnificent event is free, the New Orleans Jazz and
Heritage Foundation encourages attendees to RSVP ahead of time. To view the
full lineup and to reserve your tickets, visit jazzandheritage.org.
Worried about transportation? Don't
worry! Courtesy parking will be available at St. Augustine Catholic Church on
1122 Henriette Delille St. and street parking is available in the surrounding
neighborhood. This wonderful month of live music and fun is free, but donations
are happily accepted. Help support the Foundation and keep admission free for
years to come by supporting the food and beverage vendors. Also, masks must be
worn at all times when you are not in your designed seating.
Of New Orleans's over 150 festivals per year, this is not the one to miss! Make memories and have some good 'ol Louisiana fun at the Cajun-Zydeco Festival!
