The Krewe of Orpheus is excited to announce the Monarch for the 2025 Mardi Gras season is Bianca Del Rio.
Winner of season six of RuPaul's Drag Race, Bianca Del Rio, also known as Roy Haylock, is a larger-than-life, fierce, and eccentric character. Her accolades include starring and recurring roles in feature films and TV shows like Hurricane Bianca, Hurricane Bianca 2: From Russia with Hate, Drag Me to Dinner, and The Pit Stop, alongside being named one of the "Most Powerful Drag Queens" by New York Magazine. From global tours to performing hit musicals on West End, Bianca Del Rio is relentless and spirited in her pursuits. A part of the Orpheus family for years, Del Rio is excited to hold such a prominent role in the parade and krewe in 2025.
About the Parade
Planning to roll on March 3, 2025 at 6 p.m. with 43 floats and over 1,500 members, the Krewe of Orpheus' theme for the 2025 season is "As Above So Below." Continuing the krewe's new tradition, the Orpheus parade will throw custom-made tambourines, each hand-decorated, one-of-a-kind, and designed and created by members. Post-parade, the Krewe of Orpheus will host their annual "Orpheuscapade" to continue the night of revelry and fun.
A black tie event featuring live music, dancing, a close-up view of the elaborate Mardi Gras floats, delicious food, and more, Orpheuscapade will begin at 7 p.m. and the festivities will continue until 3 a.m. Hosted at the Ernest Morial Convention Center on March 3, 2025, the event will include performances from popular and talented musicians. Headlining Orpheuscapade will be Grammy Award-winning country band Brothers Osborne, followed by the Groove Merchants, the Mixed Nuts, and NOLA Super Guy. Brothers Osborne are excited to indulge crowds with their popular songs "It Ain't My Fault," "Stay a Little Longer," and "I'm Not for Everyone." Tickets for the event will cost $225 up until the day of the party and then will be sold for $250 day of.
