The official inauguration ceremony will take place at Saenger Theatre to symbolize the beginning of a new city council and mayoral term. Council members include Matthew Willard, JP Morrell, Freddie King, Eugene Green, Lesli Harris, Aimee McCarron, and Jason Hughes.

This is the first time the inauguration will not entail a city-funded ball, but rather a weekend of events funded by donations to extend the celebration to the entire New Orleans community. The events include community service opportunities, a faith-based ceremony, and a festival.
