From Wednesday, April 27, to Sunday, May 1, you'll watch talented performers from across the state and around the world, including Cimafunk, Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys, Quitapenas, and The Daiquiri Queens. Having been in the music industry since 1978, the Grammy award-winning country singer's voice is a strong and powerful instrument that charms audiences. Her hits "Changed the Locks," "Passionate Kisses," and "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" were gamechangers that gave her fame and recognition. Taking place in beautiful Port Allen, you'll watch kite fliers of varying skill levels demonstrate their talents at Kite Fest Louisiane on Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1. There will be spectacular exhibitions by championship kite fliers, an indoor kite-flying pavilion, and candy showers throughout the day. Kids will get to join a workshop where they can build and design their own kites. Finally, nourish your Jazz Fest spirit with two days of nonstop jazz, funk, folk, and other exhilarating genres at Daze Between Festival.
