Hancock Whitney White Linen Night, the annual celebration of New Orleans' ever-growing art scene, will be celebrating its 25 year anniversary on August 3. The day-long festival will be hosted in the Art/Warehouse District and will be the scene for exclusive performances, exhibitions, gallery showings and parties.
The night begins at 5:30pm with the Open Call 2019 Opening Reception. The opening reception will showcase the work of over 30 local artists and their interpretation of identity as a complex entanglement of lived experience.
The festivities continue at 5:30pm until 9:30pm with the Julia Street Block Party between the 300 and 700 blocks of Julia Street. The block party is free and open to the public where attendees can experience two dozen restaurants and bars, live music and over 20 art installations.
There will also be a VIP CAC Cool Down lounge during the block party. CAC Cool Down Lounge will be a private venue filled with food and drinks.
Hancock Whitney White Linen Night 2019 ends with the Contemporary Arts Center's Party After Dark starting at 8pm after the block party and continues until midnight and is held at the CAC Camp Street Warehouse. Guests at the party after dark can expect art-related entertainment, music, dancing, food vendors and bars.
Events at Hancock Whitney White Linen Night such as the block party and opening reception will be free and open to the public, however, the party after dark will require purchase of a $10 ticket and the VIP lounge requires a ticket as well.
