Enjoy Local Art

The Three Rivers Art Festival will return to Covington this fall for its 28th year! Hosting more than 50 artists with nearly 200 exhibitors, the festival is a celebration of Louisiana's local art scene.

The festival will take place on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. both days in Downtown Covington's Cultural Arts District. Lining both sides of Columbia street for five blocks, an array of native artists will showcase their art—from fine jewelry and metalwork to paintings and photography.

There will also be a lineup of live music performances by local bands and artists including Crispin Schroeder, Those Olivier's, and Lake Ragan. There will be food and drink, including signature craft cocktails, sold on blocks 300, 400, and 600, as well as a variety of food trucks from vendors like The Cranky Pig and Pyre BBQ.

An exciting edition to this year's festival is a live arts performance by Northshore-based artist Joey Roberts in the Arts Alive! tent. He's best known for his detailed and realistic black and white depictions and illustrations. Similarly, there will be new food vendors visiting this year, including Rue Chow, Tacos Y Birria, and Matt's Sandwiches.

The weekend's scheduled events include a 6:30 p.m. artist's award show on Saturday, followed by a 7 p.m. live music performance by Jake Gunter. The following day at 3 p.m., a student art awards ceremony will be held at the Covington Trailhead.

As for the kids, there will be a designated children's area with plenty of entertaining activities like decorating pointe shoes with Ballet Apetrei, a performance by GrayHawk Perkins where kids and audience members can get involved in the storytelling, and delicious treats sold by Peace, Love, and Donuts. For the older kids, Three Rivers Art Festival invites young artists to submit their art as a part of the student art show, with the best pieces being awarded on Sunday, November 10.
