Compère Lapin's 10th Anniversary Prix-Fixe & Summer Rum Cruise Event
Wishing for a vacation or wanting to escape the heat? Look no further than Compère Lapin's Summer Rum Cruise and 10th anniversary prix-fixe menu, setting sail to the Caribbean right in the heart of the Big Easy.
Since 2015, Chef Nina Compton's restaurant Compère Lapin, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, has been a New Orleans staple for classic Creole dishes with a Caribbean twist. Now, the restaurant is taking things a step beyond.

The Taste of Home
Top Chef's Season 11 runner-up and a St. Lucia native, Chef Compton is redefining the "staycation" with a five-week rum tasting, which infuses the spirit of her home in her New Orleans restaurant. She is teaming up with Head Bartender Toray Henry and Assistant General Manager Cassie Rolland to bring locals and tourists alike on an adventure through the tastes that defined her origins and her culinary inspirations.
Spotlighting St. Lucian Chairman's Reserve Rum, the expedition features a different island every week. The "excursions" will offer three one-ounce servings of rum, hailing from that week's island, and a cocktail fashioned to distill the local flavor.
Where Will You be Going?
The cruise's maiden voyage will bring sailors first to Chef Nina's home, St. Lucia, and then onwards to Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Barbados, Martinique, and Haiti.
Whether you are a local looking for a unique night out or a tourist sampling the city's Caribbean roots, all wayfarers may find something to enjoy in this cruise through the Big Easy. No packing or travel is required, and there is no risk of seasickness.
The trip begins on Tuesday, June 3 and sails until Friday, July 4. Each of the five tastings will cost approximately $35 to $45 for the rum and $16 to $17 for the cocktail.

Prefer to Stay on Land?
Celebrate Compère Lapin's 10-year anniversary with their limited time prix-fixe menu. The restaurant is offering a four-course "Greatest Hits" menu that features some of the most beloved recipes from a decade of serving New Orleans its classic fusion cuisine.
The prix-fixe will be available from June 3 to June 30, 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday to Thursday. Reservations are not required but are suggested to ensure your part in celebrating this milestone.
The menu will include a choice of Conch Croquettes or Jerk Corn as a starter, Marinated Shrimp or a Local Market Salad for the second course, Snapper/Jamaican Pepperpot or a Duo of Beef with Cassava Purée and Calaloo for the third course, and Soursop Semifreddo or Banana and Nutella Zeppole for dessert.
