Boating Rules and Regulations
Whether it be a raft, kayak, or homemade barge, Bayou Boogaloo presents a unique opportunity for festival goers to enjoy live music from all kinds of watercrafts on Bayou St. John.
Using the same tickets as their land-attending counterparts, all festival attendees will enter through the same checkpoints to ensure that all boats and bags are checked. To ensure everyone's safety at the festival, here are a list of Bayou Boogaloo's rules and regulations below that people must follow.
Boating Regulations
With no lifeguard on duty, it is important that all vessels are made for outdoor water activities and that all attendees enter through a security checkpoint. Please do not liter to ensure that all festival-goers can enjoy the unique natural beauty offered at this neighborhood festival. Motorized boats will also not be permitted to ensure that the festival maintains a peaceful atmosphere and as not to distract from the live performances taking place on the stage.
In accordance with state law, all water vessels must have enough lifejackets on board for each passenger and people under 16 years old must wear one at all times. No glass containers or outside beverages are allowed in the waterway or on the festival grounds, except sealed plastic water bottles. Empty coolers are permitted, but no floating vendors will be allowed.
All children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times, with absolutely no exceptions.

Barge & Homemade Raft Regulations
Homemade rafts and barges will face the same security measures as all other vessels. All attendees wishing to bring a homemade watercraft must register their boat and ensure that it is removed from the water way in a safe and timely manner.
Kayaks, canoes, and inflatables do not count as homemade water crafts and do not need to be registered in the same way but require an official Coast Guard sticker which will be provided by the Friends of Bayou St. John. All boats must be picked up from the waterway and surrounding area within 24 hours of the festival and are subject to removal if deemed unsafe by law enforcement officials or festival staff.
Authorized enforcement officials and festival staffers have the authority to remove any watercraft that is deemed a threat to public safety and will inspect all vessels upon arrival. Boating safety laws will be enforced.
