Treme Fall Festival 2026
History and culture take center stage at Tremé Fall Festival 2026 on October 16 and 24. Live performances, auctions, second lining, and a local star-studded party are all part of the two-weekend celebration that honors the significance of the Tremé neighborhood and supports its institutional pillars.
The Tremé Neighborhood: A Rich History
Founded in the 18th century, Tremé became a safe haven for free people of color to buy land and establish themselves in New Orleans. It is regarded as the oldest African American community in the United States and is home to many historically significant sites such as Congo Square, St. Augustine Church, and Louis Armstrong Park.
Patron Party
The festival's Patron Party will take place on October 16, 2026 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the George & Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center, located at 1225 N. Rampart St. You are invited to enjoy fine cuisine, an open bar, and an auction as you listen to the sounds of award-winning Jazz artist Kurt Brunus. This year's Patron Party honors percussionist Luther Gray, founder of Bamboula 200 and the Congo Square Preservation Society.
This event joins local VIPs and philanthropists together for a night of celebration and support for Tremé. Ticket sales and auction items will go towards community organizations that keep the history and traditions of Tremé alive.

What's a Party without the Second Line?
The second line kick-off for the Tremé Fall Festival will take place on October 24, 2026. Starting at 11 a/m/ at the New Orleans Career Center, located at 1331 Kelerec St., the mile-long route goes through the historic Tremé neighborhood and ends at the festival site. Bring your handkerchiefs and dancing shoes as local brass bands and social clubs lead the way to a day of music and fun.
Tremé Fall Fest Musical Performances
Wanda Rouzan & A Taste of New Orleans
Festival Honorees Wanda Rouzan & a Taste of New Orleans fuse jazz, R&B, funk, and more to create lively sounds. Catch their performance from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Jeffery Broussard and the Nighttime Syndicate
Zydeco meets New Orleans Brass with Jeffery Broussard and the Nighttime Syndicate. They take the stage from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
New Orleans Catahoulas
The New Orleans Catahoulas are a classic R&B band from New Orleans. They perform from 1:45 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Juice
Julian "Juice" Gosin is a trumpeter, artist, producer, MC, and educator from the Seventh Ward neighborhood of New Orleans. He brings his award-winning sound to the stage from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Corey Henry & the Tremé Funktet
Corey Henry & the Tremé Funktet close out the musical lineup for the day. Henry was born and raised in Tremé and credits his musical talents to that upbringing. They bring the day's final performance from 4:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Tremé Fall Fest Poster
Christina F. Pappion is the artist behind this year's festival poster. Her work entitled, Culture Beats in Tremé, depicts the African drumming tradition that started early as the 18th century in Congo Square, the Babydoll Ladies who were the first marching and masking women's group in New Orleans, and the Mardi Gras Indians who created their own traditions when racism kept Black people out of typical Mardi Gras celebrations. Using acrylic on canvas, she depicts the culture born from Tremé in vibrant color and pays homage to the ways in which Tremé has stood the test of time.
