Celebrate Christmas Eve with a River Jazz Cruise

Celebrate Christmas Eve on the Mississippi River with live jazz, Creole food, and views of the New Orleans skyline.

On Thursday, December 24, the New Orleans Steamboat Company will be hosting its annual Christmas Eve Jazz Cruise on the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS. Have a unique Christmas Eve experience this year and choose to spend it out on the water with the NOLA Steamboat Company!

Christmas Eve Jazz Cruise Details

The two-hour cruise departs from the Toulouse Street Wharf at 7 p.m., with boarding beginning at 6 p.m. On board, guests of the cruise will be able to enjoy live music by the Grammy-nominated Dukes of Dixieland, who will be playing classic New Orleans jazz and some holiday tunes for guests to dance along to.

The cruise will host a special Creole-style Christmas Eve dinner prepared fresh onboard, with holiday cocktails and other drinks available for purchase. There's also both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can take in the views of the Mississippi River and feel a nice breeze or opt for a quieter, still experience inside.

A NOLA Riverboat Tradition

The New Orleans Steamboat Company has been a part of the city's riverfront tradition for many years. Its well-known Steamboat Natchez, which began operating in 1975, keeps the tradition of steamboat travel on the Mississippi alive. The boat used for the holiday cruise, however, will be a riverboat, which is another historical mode of water travel in New Orleans. The boat ride will actually feature a detailed narration of the rich history of New Orleans for guests to learn about and listen to.

Dining Onboard

This year's three-course menu will feature your choice of an arugula and spinach salad or a crawfish and corn chowder as an appetizer. The main course will offer guests the choice of either pork osso bucco, rosemary chicken, or American red snapper. Dessert will be New Orleans bread pudding. Drinks and cocktails will be available for purchase on the cruise to accompany your dinner.
