Tales of the Cocktail is officially taking over much of downtown this week. As Tuesday was jsut the beginning of the liquor-feuled craziness, the events were less in number, which is a good thing. The rest of the world-reknowned fest is a hodge-podge of seminars, spirited dinners, massive tasting rooms, pool parties, and a circus act in a penthouse from what I hear.
My Tuesday consisted of just two events; a very modest number from what you'll see in the coming days. First, I needed to relax before this chaos sets in. I received a fantastic chair massage along with a few shots of very smooth agave tequila courtesy of the Suite Silencio Room by Silencio Tequila in the Hotel Monteleone's Hemingway Suite where they will be all week. It's located very close to the hotel's pool where a tasting room will be every night at 5 p.m.
Taking the pool yesterday was Mig Fuel. The sweet red vodka was being mixed with any flavor of Red Bull to give you that feeling of being fueled up, in a daiquiri, or, my personal favorite way, straight poured directly into your mouth through a watermelon. That may not be the classiest way, but it is the most fun way to drink it. The Mig Fuel Girls, looking like sexy fighter pilots, entranced the crowd with a sexy show as you can see from the video on our Facebook page.
I can't wait to see what Wednesday will have in store, but I have a feeling that I'm heading right into the Danger Zone...of great times.
