NOLA Funk Fest's Rock the Rafters
This fall, the sounds of Cajun accordions, swamp-rock guitars, and zydeco tunes will fill one of New Orleans' legendary music venues. NOLA Funk Fest and Tipitina's will present Rock The Rafters: A Cajun & Creole Celebration on Thursday, October 15.
The event will feature performances by Louisiana acts including the Lost Bayou Ramblers, CC Adcock and the Lafayette Marquis with special guest Joel Savoy, and Nathan & The Zydeco Cha Chas with special guest Lil' Nathan. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the music beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Tipitinas.

Highlighting Louisiana's Musical History
The concert is a part of the ongoing efforts of NOLA Funk Fest, produced by the Louisiana Music & Heritage Experience, Inc (LMHE). Specifically, NOLA Funk Fest is a publicized introduction to the LMHE, a museum project dedicated to preserving Louisiana's musical legacy. Through exhibits, live performances, and symposium programming, the festival highlights artists, cultures, and traditions that have shaped the state's music history while offering audiences a preview of what the future museum will provide.
LMHE is working toward opening a 120,000-square-foot cultural attraction dedicated to telling the story of Louisiana music in all its forms.
Each year, LMHE highlights a different part of the state's musical identity through themed events and performances. For 2026, the focus is Cajun and Creole music, which are two genres rooted in Louisiana's traditional music culture.
Rock the Rafters aims to celebrate that tradition while bringing together the state's respected contemporary artists. Grammy-winning group Lost Bayou Ramblers is known for combining traditional Cajun music with modern influences, while guitarist and songwriter CC Adcock has long been a defining voice in Louisiana swamp rock. Zydeco favorites Nathan & The Zydeco Cha Chas will add their fast-paced, accordion-driven Creole zydeco sound.
