Calling all Saints Fans! As we get closer to this year's football season, we have one thing on our mind. Whether you're new to New Orleans and need to pick up on the 4-1-1, or a New Orleans native and Saints fan for life, we're all rooting for the same team. However, to enjoy your much awaited Saints football game to the fullest, you have to do it right.

While the football, and hopefully the plenty of touchdowns, are the star of the show, we know that a Saints game is an experience from start to finish. Whether you're a tailgate lover, a sports bar enthusiast, arena food junkie, or anything in between, we've got you covered.

Prepping for the Saints Game

"Who's On My Team?"

Knowing the game includes knowing the players. Prior to game-day, check out the profile's of the stars on the field. While most are familiar with returning players, everyone will have their eyes on the new recruits, specifically, Derek Carr, #4. The former Las Vegas Raiders Quarterback was signed during the off-season, and could be key to a Saints postseason appearance.

Returning to the field this season is Jimmy Graham, #80, former Saints tight-end who's bringing his talents back to New Orleans after quite some time away, having played for the Seahawks, Packers and Bears.

Additionally, running back Jamaal Williams, #30, has signed a three year contract with the Saints. Jamaal is a former Detroit Lion, where he had his breakout season in 2022. Williams had notably set a Lions franchise record for rushing touchdowns with 17.

While Chris Olave has returned for his second year with the Saints, his improvements are shaping him up to look like more of a standout guy this upcoming season. Olave, #12, will be one to watch.

Dress to Impress!

Players, Fans, and New Orleans as a whole loves nothing more than to see some spirit. While there is plenty of merchandise available through the Saints website, anything black and gold will help you blend in with the crowd. We've seen it all—from overalls to sequins head-to-toe—the more spirit, the better. Bring on all the face paint, body glitter, costumes, and accessories you've got.

Between the Saints website and pro shop, Amazon, and local boutiques—there's plenty of places to shop for game day fashion.

For all the ladies—Fleurty Girl has a rockin' collection of black and gold merchandise for your game day look. If you're feeling creative, you can even craft your own.

New Orleans Loves a Good (Pre) Game

Now that you're dressed for the game, it's time to go. But first things first—the pregame, of course. To some, the pre-game is the real game.

If you're looking for the party, head to Champion's Square. This 90,000 square foot outdoor amphitheater has been home to the best pre-game tailgating party since its opening in 2010. Available in the square will be tons of cheering, excitement, beer, and food. At Champion's square, it seems as if we've already won!

If you're not into crowds, you can enjoy a more private pre-party at a neighboring sports bar or restaurant. Walk-Ons is a sports bar less than a ten minute walk from the stadium and is a great place to go prior to the game. They serve up plenty of local beer, fried food, party platters and more. If you're looking for a relaxed sports bar to stop at on the way, Manning's Sports Bar is about a five minute drive (or 20 minute walk) to the stadium and has 30 flat screen TV's, pub grub, and tons of beers on tap.

It's Go-Time!

In terms of getting to the game, the stadium has seven stadium parking lots, but you're going to typically spend over 30 dollars doing so. We suggest taking the streetcar if it's convenient for you, as the Poydras stop is across from Gate A.

Caesar's Superdome consistently opens up its gate's two hours prior to the game. While two whole hours isn't necessary, we suggest arriving with ample time prior to game time. This is due to long lines and security. Additionally, you'll want to have time to take a bathroom break and grab your favorite game-time snacks and beverages before kick off. You'll definitely want to be seated when it's time for the Saints to make their grand entrance.

Don't expect to be seated for the hours-long extravaganza though. The Saints Cheer Krewe brings on the party, and they'll make you want to get up, dance, and cheer. Fantastic music, games, and halftime acts will keep the excitement high throughout the night.

In regards to safety, make sure to download your ticket prior to the game on your mobile device. Your ticket will include a guide to the easiest path to your seat, as well as the easiest exit strategy. It's important to also review the bag policy, as some bags are required to be clear plastic depending on the size. There are some exceptions for medical needs such as medications you may need in case of an emergency. Safety is just as important as having fun—and we know you'll have a blast!

Post-Game?

We hope you had the time of your life at the Saints Game. But if you're looking for some more fun, or you're hopefully looking to celebrate a huge Saint victory, you're in luck as New Orleans sure loves to party, and what better reason to?

The stadium is located downtown, so there are plenty of bars you can head to in the CBD and Warehouse district, such as Barcadia, Lucy's, the Rusty Nail, and more.

If you're ready for a long night, most bars in the French Quarter are walking distance, and Bourbon Street is sure to be rowdy after a big win.

Game Day in the Big Easy

Regardless of how die-had of a Saint's fan you may be, we know that the tickets aren't always so easy to secure. But that doesn't mean you should miss out on all the fun. That said, you can still show off your spirit and cheer on your team locally. As we hope for a more successful season this year, we need all the support we can get! Let's go Saints!
