Connecting Founders & Tech Professionals
Tech enthusiasts, are you interested in pitching your innovative business to a panel of tech professionals? If so, an opportunity has emerged through the collaboration of The Idea Village and Agile Nola called Pitch2Tech.
This event's goal is to listen to ideas that can advance the future while also creating a space for networking and collaborative ventures. Startup founders will be able to present their business to professionals in New Orleans' tech field, while also building connections with others. Pitch2Tech will be at The Shop at the Contemporary Arts Center, located at 900 Camp St., on Tuesday, January 30. It will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Idea Village
The Idea Village is a nonprofit based in New Orleans with a goal to help innovative thinkers grow their idea into a successful business. They focus on potential businesses that contribute to the advancement of New Orleans' future.
The nonprofit was founded in 2002 by Sally Forman, Allen Bell, Darin McAuliffe, Sam Giberga, Tim Williamson, Robbie Vitrano, and Michele Reynoir after the group won a business plan competition. They wanted to attract millennials back to New Orleans after over 40,000 of them moved away due to political corruption, crime rates, and poor public education. The group devised a plan that would both help innovators with their businesses and New Orleans.
Over the years, The Idea Village has collaborated with companies like Pan American Life and GNO Inc. They have launched support initiatives such as the IDEAinstitute, an initiative that strengthens the connection between the community and The Idea Village, and IDEAx, an initiative that helps new New Orleans startups.
Agile Nola
Agile Nola is a forum that helps innovators and enthusiasts connect with each other and share ideas. They host several events a year at The Shop to help people networking with others in New Orleans' tech field.
