World-Renowned Dance Company Pilobolus
The Pilobolus Dance Company will be performing at New Orleans' Mahalia Jackson Theater on October 17 at 7:30 p.m.
With an Emmy Award and a Grammy nomination, the Pilobolus Dance Company is an internationally beloved company with a streak of rebellion when it comes to traditional dance. The company experiments with and taunts the limits of self-expression through contemporary dance and inventive storytelling.
About Pilobolus
Pilobolus has toured in over 65 countries with more than 120 showcases since 1971. The company was named one of Dance Heritage Coalition's "Irreplaceable Dance Treasures" in 2015, in addition to a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cultural Programming. The pioneering American cultural institution is recognized for their athleticism and creative collaboration, with unique and memorable presentations of their view of culture and today's reality.
Today, the company has expanded to teaching communities and companies the power of nonverbal storytelling, directing minds towards collaboration and creativity through storytelling.
NOBA & Event Details
The New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA) will feature the return of Pilobolus, an audience favorite in New Orleans, for its 2026-27 Main Stage Season. Tickets can be purchased on NOBA's website or by calling (504) 522-0996. Single tickets start at $35, with season subscription packages and group rates also available.
NOBA has showcased nationally and internationally acclaimed performances on its Main Stage for over 50 years. Since 1992, NOBA has also provided more than 5,500 free dance classes to youth, adults, and seniors each year at up to 20 community sites throughout the Greater New Orleans area through its internationally recognized, award-winning education programs. The program has reached over 33,000 individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Multiple grants from Louisiana Arts organizations and Arts New Orleans make the foundation possible.
Pilobolus Remaining in NOLA
After their showcase at the Mahalia Jackson, Pilobolus performers will spend the rest of the week in the city, holding master classes and movement workshops for all ages across Greater New Orleans. Additional information, including class schedules and other events, is set to be announced.
The company will also partner with a local healthcare clowning organization, Prescription Joy, to provide entertainment for patients and guests at Manning Family Children's Hospital.
