To wrap up Carnival season, the Old Mandeville Business Association (OMBA) and the City of Mandeville will be celebrating its third annual Krewe Du Pooch Parade & Costume Contest at the Lakefront on Saturday, March 5, 2022. That year's theme is "A Fairy Tail," and parade participants and their pets are invited to dress up as their favorite Disney or fairy tale characters. The parade will begin at 12 p.m.

There will be a costume contest during the parade where participants--pets and owners--will be judged by panelists on these four categories: Best Theme, Best Dressed Duo, Most Creative Float, and Pack Pick. Winners will receive a gift basket with doggy-related items, as well as online recognition.

In addition, there will be a live performance by Four Unplugged, refreshments, activities, and adoptions hosted by local animal rescue organizations such as Northshore Humanity Society, St. Francis Animal Sanctuary, and Humane Society of Louisiana.

You'll need to register if you want to participate in the parade with your dog. Registration begins on Saturday, January 1, 2022 for $35 (five handlers per dog). This is a good way to support local causes, as well as small businesses.
