Five Workouts to Try This Week

Working out is a great way to relieve stress, and these are stressful times, as we all know. For some, getting back out there and being on-site, in-person is what you crave, even while remaining safe is paramount. For others, you're not quite comfortable returning to quasi-"normal" and prefer to keep your social distance. But that doesn't mean that you still don't want to take part, stay fit, and have some fun. Here are five workouts, including a few in-person and a few livestreaming, so there's something for everyone. Take your pick and then get out there! Or don't. You'll find a workout program here for you, either way.

Stretch & Flow at Wrong Iron (Yoga)

"Not cha mama's Monday night!" Stretch & Flow takes place at the Mid-City Greenway. What extra physical challenge it demands with its yoga-Pilates fusion aspect, it makes up for in terms of price and location. At just $5 per ticket, the experience doesn't get more frugal. Plus, Stretch & Flow takes place smack-dab on top of a beer garden, so stick around for Happy Hour afterwards. You'll have earned it! 3532 Toulouse. 6:30 p.m. Mondays. (504) 302-0528

Zumba Live Stream (FREE)

Here's one for you ne'er-leave homers out there: a Zumba class via Zoom (say that five times fast) by Footprints to Fitness, which you can attend from the sanitation of your own living room. Join in for 30 minutes of intense aerobic exercise, but don't be intimidated. This class is designed for accessibility, so whether you're a novice or proficient, you can find something for you. Did we mention it's free? That's right. It doesn't cost anything. 7:00 p.m. Mondays

$5 Tribe Yard Yoga Revival!

This one's an established yoga class, back in person for the first time. Tribe Yard Yoga Revival will be going down at Tchoup Yard (try pronouncing that one, out-of-towners!) in the Garden District, a stone's throw from the river. Classes begin this Wednesday. They're only accepting 40 people per class, so hurry up and secure your ticket. 405 Third St., 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays.

Pool Party Yoga!

NOLA Tribe Yoga is making its triumphant return, courtesy of The Drifter Hotel in Mid-City. This one's a tad pricier than some other options, but you get a lot of bang for your buck. Attendees get a discounted access to the Drifter Hotel pool immediately following the class, where the drinks will be complimentary (Ooh là là!). Tickets cost $15 a head. 3522 Tulane Ave., 9:00 a.m. Saturdays, (504) 605-4644

Cardio Blast (FREE) Livestream

Another online class by Footprints to Fitness. It lasts for 30 minutes and focuses on cardio-related exercises. This particular class boasts the added benefit of being led by the Footprints to Fitness leader and founder, April Dupré. Once again, it's free, and you can attend from the comfort and social distance of your own home. 10:00 a.m. Fridays
