The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour

Every four years, soccer players from all over the world come together for the world's most exciting sporting event: the FIFA World Cup. For New Orleanians, they will have an opportunity to see the World Cup's famous trophy.

The FIFA World Cup tournament was first held in Uruguay in 1930 with only 13 countries and has since then become a global phenomenon. Over a span of multiple weeks and games, teams compete to win the World Cup Trophy and a lifetime of glory. FIFA, or Fédération Internationale de Football Association, was founded in 1904 in Paris to establish a way to oversee international soccer competitions and regulate them. While they started as a European organization, there are now 211 countries and territories part of FIFA!
