17th Edition Returns After a Short Hiatus
Blues and jazz music enthusiasts are invited to enjoy local music, New Orleans' best barbeque, and interact with local artists at the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival this fall! Taking place on Friday, October 11 through Sunday, October 13, the event will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Fest Info
The event will be hosted at Lafayette Square Park, located on 602 St. Charles Ave., across from the iconic Gallier Hall. Artists headlining the fest include Lil Ed & the Blues Imperials, alongside Irma Thomas & the Professionals. There will be many other performances by over 10+ artists, including Nikki Hill, Eric Lindell, Billy luso, and Les Getrex & Creole Cookin, just to name a few.
An arts market will also take place at the festival, where local artists can showcase and sell handmade art work, jewelry, and other creations. As for the food, there will be a widespread array of BBQ options representing both local and regional restaurants, and—despite the name of the festival—there will be options for vegetarians, vegans, and those who eat gluten-free.
Hosted by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, the event is free for entry. However, for those who wish to upgrade their festival experience, VIP tickets are offered starting at $300. Included in the upgrade is: entry into a private lounge in Gallier Hall, festival seating, air conditioning, private bathrooms, and two complimentary bars. Upon purchase, the tickets are valid throughout the entire weekend.
Conveniently, Lafayette Square Park is located along the St. Charles Streetcar line and is also accessible via bus. However, for those who wish to drive, there is paid parking offered at the Poydras Center, as well as first-come first-serve street parking. The festival also kindly asks that attendees refrain from bringing in any outside food and beverages. For the comfort and safety of all involved, leave furry-friends and pets at home.
