The iconic Carousel Bar, nestled within the historic Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans' French Quarter neighborhood, is set to commemorate its 75th anniversary this September with a whirlwind of celebratory events and special offerings.
"As we celebrate the Carousel Bar's 75th anniversary, we're reminded of the countless stories and memories that have unfolded over the years," Stephen Caputo, general manager of Hotel Monteleone, said.
Since its grand opening on September 3, 1949, the Carousel Bar has been a beloved landmark in the Crescent City, captivating locals and visitors alike with its unique rotating bar and stellar cocktails. Over the decades, it has played host to a dazzling array of celebrities and literary giants from William Faulkner to Billy Joel, cementing its status as a cultural touchstone in New Orleans.
To mark this milestone, the Carousel Bar has curated an exciting lineup of events and experiences throughout September.
Upcoming September Events
September 11
Interactive Cocktail Classes: Exclusive sessions for hotel guests, led by longtime Beverage Manager Marvin Allen, teaching the art of crafting the bar's signature Vieux Carré cocktail.
September 15 - 21
The Carousel Bar Experience: A week-long series of private, one-hour sessions from September 15-21, offering an intimate look into the bar's rich history and celebrated cocktails.
September 16 - 19
Guest Bartender Series: From September 16-19, renowned mixologists from New Orleans' top establishments will showcase their skills behind the Carousel Bar from 4-6 pm daily. Hailing from some of the hottest spots in town, including Jeff "Beachbum" Berry from Beachbum Berry's Latitude 29, Chris Hannah of award-winning bar, Jewel of the South, and renowned local mixologists Kimberly Patton-Bragg and Abigail Gullo, these top mixologists will bring their signature flair and creativity to the Carousel Bar.
September 18
Charity Night: On September 18, all cocktail proceeds will benefit the 18th Ward Sports Club, supporting youth sports programs in the local community.

Social Media Giveaway: Throughout September, patrons can share their favorite Carousel Bar memories on Instagram using #Carousel75 for a chance to win exclusive prizes. One lucky winner will receive a prize package, including Carousel Bar merchandise, a $50 bar tab, and a two-night complimentary stay at Hotel Monteleone.
The winner will be announced on social media on October 1.
