On Sunday, January 24, Alto
reopened at long last and began offering a select brunch menu accompanied by
music. Alto is a rooftop bar and pool located in Ace Hotel in the Warehouse
District. It has some of the best views of the city, with string lights hanging
around the terrace. Recently only open to hotel guests due to COVID-19
precautions, Alto is once again open to the public, so anyone can stop by to
enjoy good food and drinks.
The brunch menu that will be offered on Sundays ranges from
fluffy buttermilk pancakes with ricotta, satsuma syrup, and pecans to vegan
steel-cut oatmeal with bananas, winter fruit, seeds, and cinnamon syrup. If you
aren't too full, top off your meal with semi-sweet chocolate chip cookies with
sea salt.
Alto also has a selection of brunch beverages that include
alcoholic drinks, such as Bloody Marys or aperol mimosas, or non-alcoholic
beverages, such as orange juice, iced cold brew coffee, or boxed water. Along
with the brunch beverages, Alto also offers $12 cocktails, including an Oaxacan
margarita, a classic daiquiri, and a winter sangria. There is also a selection
of IPAs and lagers that is available by the can or in an ice bucket with five
cans.
Each week, there will be music played at brunch, and each
month, a new DJ will make an appearance to play some tunes. On Sunday, January
31, Felice G
will be taking over Alto brunch. Originally from Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn, Felice G
is a DJ, curator, and yoga teacher hoping to change the world with her art and
music, which is an upbeat, groovy type of jazz that provides the perfect vibe
to hang out and take in the view.
Brunch will be offered from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Sunday only.
No reservations are required. The general public is welcome at any time to
celebrate the weekend and enjoy some good food.
