Brewing Up Some Fun
Folgers was right. The best part of waking up is the promise of a delicious cup of Morning Joe. Whether you drink it black, with cream and sugar, hot, or iced, coffee is a morning staple that unites people around the world.
The NOLA Coffee Festival understands how coffee is an important aspect of the city's identity and seeks to celebrate it with our local community. The festival will run from September 27 until September 28 and will host an array of activities, informative presentations, and—of course—coffee themed food, drinks, and goodies!
In New Orleans, coffee is a major part of our cultural identity—the birthplace of chicory coffee and a port city that helped to introduce the country to Caribbean and South American coffee beans—and boasts a huge industry throughout the city. From native manufacturers like Cafe du Monde and French Market, the city boasts a variety of local options.
About the Festival
Each day will host a lineup of classes to learn about local and regional coffee products, equipment, and techniques. Starting on Friday, the festival will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.—opening an hour early, at 9:00 a.m., for those who buy VIP tickets—and guests are invited to peruse and enjoy a selection of local coffee businesses. Morning class presentations begin at 10 a.m. and include "Barista Classroom," "Roaster Classroom," and "Consumer Coffee History Classroom."
For those who are unable to attend a morning class, the afternoon session offers the same selection and begins at 1 p.m. The same schedule applies on Saturday, and can be viewed here. The festival will be held at the Morial Convention Center's Exhibit Hall, located at 900 Convention Center Boulevard. In the evening from 5 to 7 p.m. there will be off-site mixers and private events, with more information being present soon here. Regular admission tickets start at $20 for a single day and $30 for two days, as well as $50 for a single day and $70 for two days for VIP ticket holders.
The exhibitor list for the 2024 NOLA Coffee Festival includes Cherry Coffee Roasters, Folgers Coffee, French Truck Coffee, Bloom Coffee Co, and Rebirth Coffee, just to name a few.
