The University of New Orleans' School of the Arts has announced their impressive array of shows, exhibitions, and plays to be presented this upcoming spring. This acclaimed New Orleans Art Department has many talented students, faculty, and alumni across all artistic departments. This spring, the residents of New Orleans are invited to see what some of UNO's most talented actors, poets, painters, and writers have been working so hard on throughout their academic career.

To begin, Limelight Thursday is returning to UNO in 2023, and will feature top notch musical acts, such as the Latin band Muevelo, performing at the school's iconic campus amphitheater. Limelight Thursday is free to the public and will include food and drinks from Urban South and Nola Crawfish King.

Musical excursions are also in the lineup for next spring, with guests such as Awadagin Pratt & the Maxwell Quartet, Oscar Rossignoli, and many more performing on multiple dates at UNO's performing arts center's recital hall starting at 7:30 p.m. Additionally, the theater department has two special performances lined up which will include Steve Martin's play Picasso at the Lapin Agil and Pet Shop Boy's musical Closer to Heaven. Both shows are set to be presented at UNO's Robert E. Nims Theater.

If this wasn't enough, the school's film department will also be hosting its annual film festival May 5-7, just in time to show off their brand new 28-foot movie screen and high-definition projection system. With all these options to choose from, there's something for everyone to enjoy at UNO this upcoming spring.

Event dates and prices range throughout the spring, so visit UNO's School of the Arts website for more information on any events that catch your eye.
