With its origin rooted in France, the Sazerac cocktail made with Sazerac Rye Whiskey, sugar, Herbsaint, Peychaud's Bitters, and a twist of lemon holds the place as the top cocktail in New Orleans. It was probably the very first one. The drink is being honored with a whole, brand new, beautiful building on historic Canal Street which is just days away from opening to the public. Visitors can go through the museum on the third and second floors which will provide them the entire history of the Sazerac cocktail through fascinating high-tech interactive displays. Soon enough, Sazerac Rye Whiskey and Peychaud's Bitters will be made in-house for everyone to see. There's even a rum lab! Keep checking back for details about the grand opening of this soon-to-be New Orleans cultural institution.
