In early 2020, the Sylvain Society's Annual Big Wig Ball was one of the very last elegant parties to happen before COVID began spreading amongst Mardi Gras revelers. Unlike many annual events, The Big Wig Ball did not have to miss out on their party because they pushed it back from its typical early year date to mid-summer. The Sylvain Society hosted the colorful affair at the Artmazing Gallery in the French Quarter this year, and the attendees were decked out in stunning regalia befitting the theme of "Cabaret Soiree." Funds from the party go to support education in the operatic arts.
