The Mortuary Presents Tales of The Macabre 2026
Located at the end of Canal Street is The Mortuary, a haunted mansion that is an iconic fixture in the spooky New Orleans landscape. The mansion opened in 1872 and operated as an actual mortuary, leaving the building with more than enough haunted spirits.
The Mortuary now serves as a haunted house, with special holiday events and spooky programming year-round such. Tales of the Macabre is returning for another year, combining two New Orleans favorites: ghosts and a good cocktail.

The Event
Tales of the Macabre is an hour-long program inspired by the haunting stories of New Orleans and the bayou. The experience will feature haunting mysteries and dark folklore native to the city. Tales of the Macabre is a combination of a haunted house, cocktail service, and theatre production. When you walk through the haunted mansion, the Tale Tellers will tell four unique stories that will send shivers down your spine. While this is happening, a mixologist will create a three-part cocktail series in tandem with the spooky stories.
When you finish this, you are welcomed into The Eerie Adventures Club. This is a haunted 1930's English Explorer's Cabaret and Club. Here, the guests will be entertained by the ancient parlor of horror and experience a club for supernatural creatures, mad scientists, and eccentric explorers! The cabaret show starts at 7:30 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m. and is open to anyone with a ticket to Tales of the Macabre. A bar service is offered as an upgrade to your ticket. Mocktails are also available for any guest interested!
