Join fellow wine-lovers for the annual Summer Wine Festival (aka “La Fête du Vin”) on Saturday, June 23, as the festival nears its 20th year of wine appreciation and celebration. Hosted by the French American Chamber of Commerce (FACC)—Gulf Coast, the event will run from 7 to 10 p.m. (VIP starts at 6:30 p.m.) at Canal Place.

Beyond a wide array of French wines offered by local vendors, there will also be food and wine pairings. Local French chef Jean-Luc Albin, an honorary chair for the festival, will be offering sweets, and Jacques Soulas, artist and co-owner of Café Degas, will provide shrimp and ravigote served on endives. Soulas will also be selling original “Unwind at the Summer Wine Festival” posters to commemorate the event. Other participating restaurants include Breads on Oak, Bellegarde Bakery, Santa Fe, and Atchafalaya.

Look forward to live music by Tim Laughlin and Joe Simon’s Jazz Music along with sightings of the Krewe of Jeanne d’Arc in costume. Also, don’t miss the “300 for 300” exhibit, celebrating New Orleans’s tricentennial, located on the third floor of Canal Place.

Tickets are $50 for FACC members and $65 for non-members in advance, and $75 at the door. A bientôt!

Saturday, June 23, Canal Place, 333 Canal St. VIP: 6:30 p.m.; festival open from 7 – 10 p.m. For more information or to buy tickets, go to thompson-auctions.net/facc.
