A Performance to Support Students
Tulane University is set to present the sixth annual Tipping Point benefit concert at The Fillmore New Orleans on Oct. 21.
This musical event was established to provide funding for student scholarships at Tulane University, and is headlined this year by eight-time Grammy Award winner Stephen Marley and BAFTA and Grammy Award winner Lukas Nelson. Nelson, who is best known for co-producing Bradley Cooper's award winning film "A Star is Born", also co-wrote many of the film's songs with music icon Lady Gaga. Executive produced by RWE Partners and hosted by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival producer and Tulane alumnus Quint Davis, Tipping Point is the largest concert series in the nation which directly supports a university and its students.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at Tippingpoint.Tulane.edu, or purchased without transaction fees at The Fillmore New Orleans box office at 6 Canal St.
Additional Musicians Set to Perform at Tipping Point
In addition to mega-stars Stephen Marley and Lukas Nelson, Tipping Point boasts a broad array of other talented and successful musical artists in this year's lineup. These artists include David Shaw, Ledisi, Jimmie Vaughan, Marc Broussard, Jimmy Vivino, George Porter Jr., and "The Soul Queen of New Orleans" Irma Thomas. The event will also include a jam-packed New Orleans house band featuring Ivan Neville, Tony Hall, Raymond Weber, and Mark Mullins & The Levee Horns, which will be led by the evening's music director, two-time Grammy Award winner Eric Krasno.
